Remote Learning & Teaching Children at Home

At Generacion, we provide private education, tutoring, and skills training to the street children of Lima. In the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic, traditional teaching methods have been impacted and we have adapted our efforts accordingly. Thanks to our generous donors, we have been able to create remote learning methods that ensure our student’s access to education is not interrupted while remaining safe and secure during the pandemic.

In addition to adapting our academic methods, we continue to practice social distancing and provide sanitizing materials, masks, and other necessary supplies needed to keep our children, educators, and volunteers safe as we navigate the ongoing pandemic.

To better serve children during the pandemic, we are in need of school supplies, computer rooms, and equipment to better facilitate remote and online learning models (e.g., internet, computers, and tablets). Your donations are greatly appreciated.

Community Outreach

Due to the realities of COVID-19, many Peruvians have been forced to return to the provinces from which they left in search of better opportunities. Over the past year, large groups of people have started walking back to Cuzco and Ayacucho without support or acknowledgment from the government. We have witnessed firsthand the plight of these walkers as they travel by foot along the Panamericana Sur highway.

In an effort to help, we have been serving breakfast and lunch, prepared with the help of our children, youth, and educators from our homes, to these walkers as they embark on their journey. Additionally, we continue to engage with both state and regional governments of Cuzco and Ayacucho on behalf of these displaced people as they journey home. They are in desperate need of food, supplies, and housing.
